About us

Thirty years of Kenyan property, one family firm

Founded in Karen in 1995 and still family-run: resident consultants across Nairobi, the Coast and up-country, and the personal approach we started with.

Since 1995
OUR STORY

Rooted in Karen, at home across Kenya

Langata Link Real Estate began in 1995 from the Langata Link Complex on Langata South Road, helping neighbours in Karen buy, sell and let their homes. Word travelled, and today our consultants cover Nairobi, the north and south coasts, Lamu, Nanyuki, Naivasha and Kajiado.

We remain a family-run company. Directors Neil and Gemma McRae are involved in every mandate, and each region has a resident consultant who knows its roads, its title histories and its people.

More than property.

OUR PROMISE
What we believe

The way we work

  1. 01

    Property is emotion

A transaction is never just land or a house. It is an investment, a home or a relationship shift — whether we are counselling a family after a loss or guiding a couple through their first investment.

  2. 02

    Honest counsel

Advice on the best way forward for you and your family’s future generations, given plainly.

  3. 03

    Resident, not remote

Each region has a consultant who lives there and knows its roads, its title histories and its people.

  4. 04

    Built for the long term

A family-run firm since 1995. Neil and Gemma McRae are involved in every mandate, and we take a long-term view of every relationship.

A note from our Directors

Property is emotion, and that’s what we work in.

Of course Mark Twain was correct when he wrote “Buy land, they aren’t making it anymore”, but at Langata Link Real Estate we know that a transaction is never just about ‘land’ or ‘a house’ or ‘property’; it is always instead about an investment, a home or a relationship shift. Property is emotion, and that’s what we work in: whether it is counselling families after a loss, negotiating between two former spouses or even guiding a young couple in their first investment.

My 15 years of experience in real estate has shown me that I enjoy consulting people and advising them on the best way forward for their future generations. My wife Gemma and I have always taken a long-term view of business, and we are proud of the company, network and community we have built in Kenya.

At Langata Link Real Estate we are a network of professionals deeply woven into Kenya and its people, and we look forward to adding you to the vibrant community of property owners and renters in the country.

At a time when global markets are facing uncertainty — from rising interest rates to geopolitical tensions and slow economic recovery — many investors are looking beyond traditional markets for new opportunities. Kenya is increasingly standing out as one of those opportunities, not just as a risky bet, but as a market with real long-term potential.

In Nairobi and the surrounding towns, the signs of growth are clear. A young and fast-growing urban population continues to increase demand for housing, retail spaces and mixed-use developments. At the same time, investments in infrastructure — like roads, transport links and digital connectivity — are opening up new areas for development and making it easier for businesses and communities to grow. Kenya’s financial sector is also evolving, giving more people and businesses access to capital and expanding participation in the property market.

What makes Kenya attractive right now is not that it is untouched by global challenges, but that it continues to adapt. Developers are focusing more on affordability, sustainability and smarter urban planning. Investors are also spreading their interests across different sectors, including residential, logistics, hospitality and conservation-focused projects.

Investing in Kenya today is less about trying to perfectly time the market and more about recognising where the country is headed. It is a market still shaping its future, with growth that is already taking place on the ground.
